Focus on a Single Task at a Time

Once the to-do list is in place, it’s time to get started with the first task. Although it’s tempting to multitask, only a small number of people can accomplish much through multitasking. According to research, only 2% of individuals can effectively multitask; the remaining percentage will only negatively affect their overall productivity. Therefore instead, an individual should commit their attention to a single task until completion. Not only is this a good way to save time, but it’s also how they can ensure that the activity is effectively accomplished.

Take Breaks Between Tasks

Contrary to most people’s beliefs, taking a break between tasks is one way to manage time effectively. If a person realizes that they’re stuck on the same task longer than the time allocated to the task, it’s probably time for a break. If working from home, taking a shower, or taking a short walk outside could come in handy. Besides, when using a computer, taking a break can help prevent the effects of eye strain.
